Up for Unexpected? The design and production team worked closely with Townsville Enterprise marketing to launch the new Townsville destination brand. Working alongside musician Trent Bell our team produced national tourism TVCs and social videos while our design team created the new branding for Townsville.

UP FOR UNEXPECTED

Actions involved in the campaign included, but weren’t limited to:

  • Production – video photography editing for TVC.  
  • Pre-visual motion reference (storyboarding) 
  • Talent and location scouting 
  • Drone videography 
  • Video shoots – Wallaman Falls, Magnetic Island, Hinchinbrook, Townsville City restaurants  
  • Design – Logo Package Development and Digital Delivery.

The Brief

The brand journey began more than 12 months ago with an objective to: 

  • Develop a strong destination brand to drive tourism 
  • Enable us to leverage the additional flight capacity the region has secured 
  • Provide distinction for the destination  
  • Develop a brand essence and features that operators can adopt and ‘live by’ 
  • Deliver a brand that was triggered by consumer insights but guided by industry 

Key Results

Since Townsville Enterprise launched the new destination brand, 70% of people who saw the campaign advertising took action. Whether that was booking a flight, Googling ‘Townsville North Queensland’, talking to a friend or family member about the destination or visiting the destination website.
