Regional Queensland
Regional Queensland is not a secondary market. It is an economic engine, a tourism force, and a collection of fiercely distinct communities with their own identities, rhythms and expectations.
Campaigns that succeed here do not arrive with metropolitan polish and leave with polite applause. They require cultural fluency, operational depth and a genuine understanding of place.
At Vetta Creative, regional work is not a satellite offering. It is core to who we are. We understand the language of the North. We understand that lifestyle and industry are inseparable. We understand that economic development, tourism, workforce attraction and community pride are connected conversations.
We are regularly engaged by regional clients who have previously worked with metro agencies only to find the work felt imported rather than embedded. The difference lies in proximity, in listening, and in knowing how to build narrative from lived experience rather than surface observation.
Across North and Regional Queensland, we have led brand development, creative strategy and full campaign production to support regional growth, reposition perception and drive economic opportunity.
Townsville Enterprise – Destination Brand and National Campaign
Townsville North Queensland required a repositioning. Despite significant tourism assets and improved aviation access, awareness and consideration remained below potential. The brief was to develop a distinctive destination brand capable of competing nationally and shifting perception at scale.
Vetta Creative led the brand development process end-to-end, including research synthesis, creative platform development, scriptwriting and campaign production. The resulting brand platform was designed to unify sub-regions while celebrating diversity of experience.
We delivered full TVC production, stills library creation, script development and campaign assets across television, digital, social and print, with usage secured in perpetuity. Production was managed entirely by Vetta, from concept through to delivery across interstate metro and regional markets including Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
The campaign delivered a measurable uplift in awareness and consideration, with Townsville Enterprise reporting a 166 percent increase in awareness following launch and significant economic injection into the region. The brand has since been adopted broadly across operators and stakeholders, becoming the unifying platform for destination marketing across Townsville North Queensland.
This project demonstrates Vetta’s capability to lead large-scale regional brand development and execute multi-market campaigns with national reach.
Carpentaria Shire Council – Outback by the Sea
Carpentaria Shire sits at the meeting point of outback and ocean. Capturing its identity required sensitivity to seasonality, environment and scale.
Under the Outback by the Sea platform, Vetta produced destination films and a comprehensive stills library capturing Normanton, Karumba and the Gulf Savannah. The work celebrated cattle station heritage, Indigenous culture, fishing history, tourism experiences and community life.
Production timing was carefully managed to reflect the dramatic seasonal shifts of the Gulf. Drone cinematography highlighted vastness and remoteness, while ground-level storytelling brought forward accessibility, opportunity and lived experience.
The assets now form a core component of the region’s tourism and event marketing, including the Karumba Barra and Blues Festival and the Barramundi Discovery Centre launch.
Mount Isa City Council – City of Opportunity
Mount Isa required a refreshed narrative to communicate investment, employment and lifestyle opportunity in one of Queensland’s most significant regional centres.
Working closely with Council leadership, Vetta developed and produced the City of Opportunity campaign, including a suite of videos and a television commercial voiced by Gyton Grantley. The work balanced industrial strength with community authenticity, repositioning Mount Isa as ambitious and forward-looking without losing its character.
Following the success of the initial campaign, Vetta was re-engaged to produce updated content focusing on local business, liveability and family appeal. The evolving campaign continues to support Mount Isa’s economic development messaging and workforce attraction efforts.
Regional Expertise, Delivered with Care
Across Mount Isa, the Burdekin and the Gulf, one principle remains consistent. Regional campaigns only work when they are built from inside the story.
Vetta Creative brings creative strategy, production expertise and on-the-ground understanding to regional projects. We know how to translate economic development goals into human narratives. We understand the visual language of the North. And we know that when you get it right, regional communities do not just see themselves in the work. They stand behind it.
For councils and organisations seeking creative and campaign delivery in Regional Queensland, Vetta offers more than execution. We offer alignment with place, people and purpose.
Burdekin Shire Council – A Lifestyle Worth Moving For
Burdekin Shire Council sought to attract new residents and shift perception beyond agriculture alone. Awareness was not the issue. Emotional connection was.
Vetta developed a multi-narrative campaign centred on real residents who had relocated from interstate. Through a hero film and targeted individual cuts, the campaign addressed specific audience triggers including work-life balance, cost of living, education and community.
Production was executed across multiple locations with split crews capturing both intimate interviews and expansive agricultural landscapes. The resulting asset library continues to support Council communications beyond the initial campaign window.
The campaign reframed the Burdekin not as a location to visit, but as a place to build a life.
